Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Electronic commerce and the electronic interchange of data are two of today's hottest technological topics. The future has become reality with the electronic passage of inventory, order, shipping, and transportation information. There will be fewer and fewer manufacturers that will consider using the services of warehousing and distribution facilities that are not equipped with EDI or some means of electronic communication.

Accuplus® accommodates standards such as UCC, EMBARC, X.12, and others. Some say the only standard part of EDI is that it is nonstandard. With this in mind, Accuplus® and The LDS Corporation provide the capabilities and services for supporting non-standard transaction sets. When it comes to EDI, you can be responsive to your customers' needs because the Accuplus® EDI module gives you the flexibility and confidence to do so. Some customers will use a value added network (VAN) and some will communicate directly to your warehouse. With either method, Accuplus® has the EDI solution.

As information is captured through the EDI process, Accuplus will distribute the data to the various processes in order to perform the functions indicated by the transaction type. Information can be communicated as varied as inbound receipts, outbound orders, inventory reports, activity reports, confirmations of receipts and shipments, invoices, functional acknowledgments, and more. LDS and the EDI subsystem for Accuplus® provide you with the ability to keep your customers informed and satisfied.
